Manus Ranch

FRUIT

Fred Manas spent much of his childhood working on his parents’ ranch in Winters, CA, where they grew peaches as well as raising beef and horses. Though Fred left for college, he never quite left farming behind. In 1980, Fred and Alice bought their property in the Capay Valley and began growing peaches and selling the produce out of their home and later, out of their barn.  Since then, Fred and Alice have expanded their production to include cherries, apricots, apples, and other fresh produce. In 1990, Sunset Magazine published an article about Manas Ranch and dubbed their peaches, ”The Best Peaches in the West”.  Fred and Alice have proudly used this motto ever since.

Using Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, Manas tends their orchards without the use of synthetic herbicides and insecticides and spray only if needed for fungus such as brown rot.
