Blue Heron Farm grows some of the finest oranges available anywhere. John and Gretchen Ceteras, in the hamlet of Rumsey, are the growers, certified organic by CCOF. Their Washington Navel oranges are juicy, sweet and a beautiful deep orange color. The grove is between 15-30 years old and produces delicious fruit.
Many folks have commented in recent weeks about the largest oranges they’ve ever seen, a result of active soil fed by compost, and moreover, a light fruit set (due to a late frost last year) and less competition on the branches. Enjoy while they’re here, another week or so.
